screw this place
i try to make original art, stuff that takes me hours on end to come up with, and i dont get shit. Want me to be another trendwhore loser who uses the same techniques over and over with different colors? Well, id do that if i cared about this place. I once considered the people i knew here my friends, but with 1 comment every 3 months, it doesnt even matter anymore. But then again, did anyone appreiciate Van Gogh before he died? Not really. Did Picasso revolutionize art? You bet your ass he did, but the critics ate him up before they realized the truth. And that is that the old ways arent always the best. I am one of few fractal artists here, and we are like a discarded art form. But you know, I should apoligize to Ghost -001-. One day he told me to make art for myself, and not for anyone else. He said the right thing, and i appreciate him saying that. But does some remote fragment of comendation hurt? Take deviantarts Unknown Artist program. A good idea, in theory, but when it first started, all I saw were artists on there that already had comments, and already had pageviews. What I didnt see is any of my fellow Unknown Artists. The real people who actually do their work, instead of copying the current style. Now, I may be wrong. Those people with comments or pageviews could have gotten them in the short time between when the news article was released and when I had read it. But thats not the point. The point is that I came to Deviantart almost a year and a half ago to meet other artists like myself, and have fun. But since then, I have only been even remotely encouraged to continue my art from people like Ghost-001-, or Blacklabelwood, VeritasCloud, and SilkAssasain. That is not what I came here for. That, in my sole belief, is not what this community was even created for.

So in a closing statement, I will still submit my fractals, but I urge all the trendwhores out there to take a serious look at their art, and inside themselves, to see if they are doing the right thing. For those who are, (and you know who you are) keep doing it, it makes all the difference in the world.
